Up on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia, surrounded by dense and lush forest in the famous (or infamous) Nimbin Valley, is where I work and live.  Away from the rat race and its miseries in the company of mother nature, who provides me with spiritual food, soothes my mind and is medicine for my body, I sit on my kick wheel which spins in silent meditative momentum.

I learnt the basics of my art at the Canberra School of Arts where I majored in ceramic sculpture. I then completed an Honours degree in ceramic sculpture at Southern Cross University.

My pieces are created primarily for my self, the time I spend in my studio-workshop is not a task that must be performed, but a daily meditation.

If someone likes my work and chooses to buy it, this is a bonus which helps keep me going.  I like my work to be clean and simple and work mostly with stoneware and porcelain, fired in a gas kiln.

A sculpture by definition is a three dimensional form in space and although I was trained as a sculptor I have developed skills which enable me to make functional sculpture.  I want to bring something different to people, I attempt to make a tea pot something much more than, just a tea pot.  And a water urn which will also enhance the atmosphere of the room in which it sits.  I try to give another dimension to candleholders.  I want people to look at objects with new eyes and appreciate another kind of beauty.

I continually push the limits of clay, glazes and firing techniques to not only learn more about ceramics but also to make life interesting and more enjoyable. Pure sculptural pieces are always an added challenge and many pieces I make are combined with metal and arranged to form medium to large outdoor installations.

ART is my LIFE ... LIFE is my ART
